Ratchet screwdriver with torque control
thingiverse
I designed this ratchet screwdriver to be versatile for all 6-Kant 1/4 inch bits. The bit rotation is locked while unscrewing and the spring provides a torque control during screwing. The maximum torque depends on the spring's stiffness and the spacer's length. To adjust the maximum torque for screwing, I also included an M5 nut at the back of the handle that allows me to increase the torque by screwing in an M5 bolt (this part is optional). The ratchet is a single piece that needs to be printed twice: one for the head of the screwdriver and one that moves with the spring. I used a 6.5x18mm spring, but you can use a spring of a different length by modifying the spacer's length in the CAD file. Print Settings Printer Anet A8 Rafts Doesn't Matter Supports No Resolution 0.2 and 0.1 for ratchet Infill 30% Notes I used PLA, but ABS might be a better choice for the ratchet part to achieve better strength Post-Printing How I Designed This I designed this using Onshape https://cad.onshape.com/documents/c5b52e24723fe923a645d039/w/258c2a93f2b9f099f0a24fbc/e/a740761469400e540fff60b1 Feel free to improve it and share your version!
