Ratchet Reel mk2

Ratchet Reel mk2

This is my second crack at creating a ratcheting reel that's actually practical. The first one worked fine, but its size was a major drawback. So, I decided to take what I learned from that experience and try again. This time around, I managed to slim it down to about half the original width, making it much more compact. I also ditched the oversized front "spout" and simplified the design as a whole. The only parts that carried over are the spool pieces, but even those were modified to fit this new design. Gone is the long handle - instead, I opted for a simple round knob on the reel. And let me tell you, the button was made from scratch with a larger, stiffer spring. This design also gets bonus points for being "streamlined" without any external screw points like the previous one had. I'm currently in the process of printing and assembling this new reel, and so far, I'm thrilled with how it's shaping up.
