Clank burst into existence at the Great Clock, a creation of Orvus's ingenious mind and infused with the essence of a Zoni soul. But Clank's true birthplace was on the bustling planet Quartu, where he emerged from a factory production line, forged by his mother - a computer that seethed with resentment towards Drek. As a small, harmless robot, Clank diverged sharply from the menacing Sentry-bots rolling off the assembly line, sharing only fleeting similarities with them. After catching wind of an infobot's warning about Drek's sinister plan to carve out a chunk of planet Novalis and repurpose it for his new world, Clank made a break for freedom, snatching an escape shuttle and taking off in a flash. Yet, two relentless blargian robots gave chase, their blaster fire striking down Clank's ship with precision, sending him careening towards the unforgiving surface of planet Veldin, where he crossed paths with the resourceful Lombax automechanic, Ratchet.
