Ratchet Block

Ratchet Block

I love building cool little mechanisms like this ratchet block created in SketchUp. My biggest concern is how the spring will perform when it's flexed, because I worry it might bow out and jam against the sides of the block, hindering movement altogether. That's why I'd recommend printing just the spring portion in ABS for optimal flexibility. Instructions: For a smooth operation, you should print this design using ABS to get the best results and achieve maximum flexibility. But that's not all - before use, remember to give everything a good sanding. Every surface needs to be as smooth as possible to function correctly.
