Ratchet and Pawl
thingiverse
I designed a locking 12-step ratchet and pawl mechanism for a project I am working on, shown in this video http://youtu.be/l4CXz2UywVQ. To assemble the components, simply print them using ABS material on an Ultimaker 2 at 230C with a layer height of 0.2 mm. To operate the ratchet mechanism, use a standard servo motor that rotates approximately 30 degrees. I controlled the servo motor in the video using an Arduino device. The pawl component is positioned inline at 26.57 mm from the center of the ratchet mechanism. Position the center of the servo hub 25.5 mm out and 38.3 mm up from the center of the ratchet mechanism. Attach the ratchet arm to the servo motor using a 19 mm long arm. Note: Holes for screws or other attachments are drilled with a diameter of 2 mm, but may be increased in size as needed.
With this file you will be able to print Ratchet and Pawl with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Ratchet and Pawl.
