I've been dealing with a persistent rat problem in my loft, and after researching, I found out that rats often infiltrate through drains into cavity walls before making their way into the loft space. To prevent this, metal rat stops are available, but they can be pricey for what they offer, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I created a DIY version of these devices, knowing that a determined rat might chew through the plastic material, but at least I'd pinpoint the exact location of the issue and could easily replace it with a stainless steel alternative without breaking the bank. This is my revised design, which addresses the previous model's tendency to clog up the drain. I crafted this solution specifically for UK 100mm pipes, ensuring a seamless fit that will help keep those pesky rats at bay.
