Rat skull + mandible
thingiverse
The object being displayed is an intact rat skull and mandible that has been thoroughly scanned using cutting-edge microCT technology. This sophisticated imaging technique allowed for the capture of detailed data, which was subsequently processed and refined through a carefully curated combination of Mimics, Magics, and 3-matics (a leading product line developed by Materialise). To optimize its quality further, particularly evident in high-resolution views, some expert cleaning could significantly improve the overall performance of this digital file. In doing so, one can address concerns related to polygon integrity (bad triangles etc.). Any assistance or guidance with enhancing its integrity would be truly valuable and highly appreciated at this time. This three-dimensional object was meticulously printed using the Makerbot Replicator 2X. It was crafted from ABS plastic with precision settings as follows: No raft was applied during printing, a moderate layer thickness of 0.20mm was utilized along with strategic application of support material to prevent warping or structural defects throughout the entire print job.
