Rat Rig V-Core Pro Kinematic Bed Mount
thingiverse
This is a kinematic bed mount for the Rat Rig V-Core Pro printer kit. It replaces the bed frame with a kinematic mount that allows the bed to expand as it heats up, while keeping its center in a fixed position. The theory behind this design is identical to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4204779 but instead of using springs to retain the bed, it employs 12x12x6mm magnets held captive by pins and securely affixing the bed while still allowing it to be easily lifted off when needed. I upgraded from stock 8mm per turn Z lead screws to 2mm per turn Z lead screws - the pictures show 400mm long screws versus the original 350mm length. 350mm screws will raise the bed about 50mm above the bottom of the X rail. To perform this upgrade, you'll need to print: - 3x Motor Brackets - 1x Bed Support Straight - 1x Bed Support Arm - 1x Bed Support Arm (mirrored) - 3x Nut Plates You will also require: - 3x 12x12x6mm magnets - 6x 4x20mm dowel pins - 3x 10mm M4 threaded steel balls - 3x M4 machine screws - 12x M3 threaded inserts for the nut plates - 12x M3 6mm machine screws - 3x brass or POM nuts to suit your Z lead screws - 1x additional MGN15 Z-rail, carriage, M3 screws & M3 t-nuts - 1x additional 420mm 2020 extrusion - 4x corner brackets - 20x M5 8mm screws and t-nuts Sources: - Pins https://www.ebay.com/itm/333314361166 - Magnets https://www.ebay.com/itm/321469891046 - Balls https://www.ebay.com/itm/333499069005 - Inserts https://www.ebay.com/itm/292177246784
