RASSORDRUM

This design was conceptualized with the notion that regolith might prove more resilient than sand. The design itself is remarkably straightforward, featuring NASA's RASSOR DRUM equipped with cover plates and blades designed to efficiently erode hard rock. The bucket boasts conical spoons for a similar effect. Constructed almost entirely from Magnesium AZ91E T6, the only exceptions being the 5 axes crafted from stainless steel or aluminum. A regolith holding system is cleverly integrated within the bucket, ensuring secure storage. Key specifications include: Bucket drum mass: 4944 g Bucket drum diameter: 449 mm Bucket drum length: 360 mm Theoretical volume capable of capture: 22.3 L While this system may not be revolutionary, at least a concerted effort was made to bring it into existence !
