Rassor High Efficiency Digger
grabcad
The NASA Rassor Rover's Efficient Digging Module boasts a unique design that maximizes holding capacity. The single-blade chamber proves to be the most effective, while its angled leading edge skillfully distributes motor load caused by interacting with regolith. For added efficiency, diamond-tipped inserts are strategically placed on both the leading edge of the blade and the trailing edge of the chamber. These industrial diamond inserts work tirelessly to break down larger pieces of regolith into manageable fragments. Future developments aim to create a collapsible version of this module. The blade arrangement is deliberately designed with this possibility in mind, allowing for potential future upgrades or modifications. Assembly of the digging module involves machining each of the four chambers separately before welding them together seamlessly.
