Please see the "Report_README.pdf" file for a detailed description. To achieve maximum fill efficiency, either install a locking mechanism at the regolith entrance in the drum or use a static drum design that eliminates movement. A locking mechanism would have complex parts prone to failure if exposed to tiny regolith particles. The proposed plan features a static storage drum connected to the freewheel mechanism, which allows rotation only in one direction. During excavation, the Scoop rotates counterclockwise, and excavator blades dig into the regolith. The freewheel mechanism installed in the storage drum prevents the bucket drum from rotating with scoops during loading, just like a bicycle's freewheel mechanism stops wheel rotation when pedaled in reverse. At the unloading site, the rotation direction is reversed, enabling the storage drum to rotate along with scoops. A working animation of the design can be accessed here-
