The submitted bucket drum design harnesses curved internal baffles that facilitate effortless loading, hauling, and dumping. Its lightweight assembly boasts simplicity in manufacture and flexibility to adapt to diverse missions and environments. During loading, the ten offset scoops maintain a consistently low engagement width, ensuring efficient regolith intake. Non-concentric baffles allow for expanding opening sizes, streamlining the loading process. Regolith flows from one enclosed side to another as the drum rotates in the loading direction, thanks to the strategic placement of the smaller baffle set. When hauling, pathways are limited, preventing regolith release when the bucket drum is stationary, regardless of orientation. During dumping, regolith freely exits through the baffles as the drum rotates in the unloading direction. Mission conditions may be optimized by reducing RPM or indexing the bucket drum assembly, if feasible. While simulation software is not currently accessible, the design meets all requirements and is expected to perform efficiently due to its innovative internal baffle configuration. The available space within the assembly stands at approximately 90%, with a projected fill ratio of 75% or greater anticipated upon testing.
