I designed the drum this way because six total scoops will be more efficient than three or four, allowing for less frequent refills. The openings are not super big, so it won't drain as much regolith over time, which will save valuable resources. I built walls inside to increase the drum's capacity and prevent excessive material loss when navigating bumps and obstacles. The relatively long scoops enable a smoother digging experience by rounding out the bucket drum, allowing it to roll more easily on buckets. Another reason for narrow openings is that they can dig through ice and harder materials without getting stuck, making the task much easier.
