RASSOR

The design consists of four sections, each comprising six evenly spaced scoops that allow regolith to be transferred into the interior of the drum through curved channels. Within each section, the interior is divided into six parts, mirroring the number of scoops. The curved channels are designed to direct regolith towards the center of the drum as it rotates clockwise, keeping it in place until the direction is reversed. When the drum's rotation changes to counterclockwise, the regolith flows out of the channels, reversing its path much like when it entered. A circular cutout at the center of each section enables a pole from the base support to pass through and connect all sections together. By pairing scoops in consecutive sections, the design limits excavation to just 175 mm at any given time. The first and third sections are synchronized, as well as the second and fourth, ensuring that only two scoops excavate simultaneously. Constructed from high-density PE plastic, the mass of the design remains at a manageable 4.7 kg. Calculations indicate a volume of 48.4 L with an impressive fill ratio of 87%. The overall dimensions are a diameter of 450 mm and a length of 360 mm, neatly fitting within specified requirements.
