Raspi 7" Touchscreen Laser Cut Enclosure
thingiverse
A custom-cut case for Raspberry Pi 3 and a 7-inch touchscreen display is designed specifically for 1/8 inch acrylic sheets, but can also be adapted for use with 3mm thick material if additional cuts are made where needed. All lines are meticulously cut to provide a seamless fit. The holes drilled into the design accommodate M3 bolts - smaller ones require tapping to secure properly, while larger ones allow for flexibility in terms of bolt length depending on acrylic thickness and layer count. Notably, the innermost layer is held together solely by pressure without any additional support from bolts. Construction involves securing the outer set of holes to hold the acrylic pieces together while the inner set of holes extends through to the touchscreen display. While not perfect, the feet provided work effectively; however, they do obstruct some USB ports and a revised design is currently in development to address this issue. Setup requires following standard setup procedures for both the Raspberry Pi 3 and the 7-inch touchscreen display. A header can be used instead of soldering power lines directly to the Raspberry Pi. The ribbon cable is routed through the back of the case, completing the installation process.
