Raspberry PI X: Amored PI HDD Case
thingiverse
My Raspberry PIs face some tough conditions, so they're snugly fitted into the [Amored Case for the PI3](https://amzn.to/2UmpCdJ) (the black one in the pics) and the [Amored Case for the PI4](https://amzn.to/39kQrDl) (the grey one). All my PIs fire up quickly from old or budget-friendly 2.5" SSD hard drives, thanks to some basic USB 2 SATA adapters like this one. Since it's a bit of a hassle if the hard drive swings freely on the Raspberry, I built a simple bracket that prints fast and is easy to use. The tabs hold the Raspberry or its lower housing securely in place, while four screws keep the 2.5" SSD firmly attached. With the SSD screwed down, the Raspberry PI stays tightly clamped. This DIY bracket works great for both the Raspberry PI 3 and Model 4 models, leaving all connections easily accessible. I print this case upright with rafts and supports because it's quite thin-walled. Updates: 2020/11: I made some minor changes to make the Case compatible with the UGREEN USB 3.0 SATA Adapter, which lets you boot up your Raspberry PI 4. Note: In the US, similar cases are probably available for the PI3 [here](https://amzn.to/2UkD55Y) and for the PI4 [there](https://amzn.to/2JkZUjy). (Please check yourself!) Some links suggest parts to replicate this project, and if you buy something, I get a small commission. The price stays the same.
