Raspberry Pi Tower PC (1/3 BJD)
thingiverse
I wanted a working PC for a 1/3 scale BJD. A Raspberry PI was an obvious choice, but couldn't find a design I liked, that was easy to build, and looked like a classic tower PC. As this is mainly for show, I used a Pi 1 that I had - I may rebuild for a Pi 4 in the future. The keyboard and mouse are bluetooth, so the USB ports were always going to have BT and Wifi dongles in them, so they're not externally accessible. Power and SD card are arranged to be accessible on the rear, plus there's a panel mounted Phono connector to bring out the video. I added a 40mm fan, and a power LED - mainly because they look cool, but they do add functionality. The version in the pics is my first build - it was close enough that I was able to produce a version I was happy with, rather than doing another 12 hour print! However a few of the holes needed minor adjustment, which I've made in the new STL. There may be a few glitches remaining, but it should be close enough to work well... let me know if you do a make and find anything that needs adjusted. The main case needs supports for the SD card and USB power sockets. However there are other minor bridges and overhangs that print fine, and you really DON'T want to be cleaning support from them. In Cura I set the X/Y support distance to be 2mm and this removed most of the redundant supports... Keyboard is a Bluetooth keyboard for mobile phones, while the monitor is a 7" reversing screen - both sourced from Ebay. The result is a fully working 1/3 scale computer! Check out my other designs for the desk and chair.
