This system was designed to regulate the Robovent dust collection system, which is used to control room pressure during Field Debris Wind Tunnel testing at the John Deere Aero-Thermal Performance Lab. The controller will adjust the Robovent VFD frequency to maintain a predetermined room pressure. This is necessary because as the unit under test begins to clog during debris testing, room pressure increases from more negative to less negative, assuming constant Robovent speed, since the wind tunnel cannot replace air being evacuated from the room fast enough. As these changes occur, the controller will make the adjustments needed on the Robovent to provide more precise and consistent test data.
