Raspberry Pi HDMI Camera case
thingiverse
A sleek laser-cut case for the Raspberry Pi Camera HDMI extension kit, crafted by Petit Studio. https://www.tindie.com/products/freto/pi-camera-hdmi-cable-extension/ Engineered to be precision-cut on 3mm acrylic sheets. The base layer features strategically placed holes that perfectly align with toy block tape, providing a sturdy mounting system for the camera. Alternatively, a second solid layer can be cut to create a rigid base. One notable challenge in designing this case is accommodating the ribbon cable between the boards, which has been intentionally given slack to prevent strain on the connectors. A design flaw is that neither board is securely captured by the case, resulting in the camera detaching from the Sunny connector when the HDMI connection is pulled out. To rectify this issue, the case could be redesigned for 2mm acrylic, allowing it to snugly surround the camera board and eliminate the problem. Assembly requires four M3 x 25mm screws and nuts.
