Raspberry Pi Game Boy Horizontal Layout for Model B+ and Model A+
thingiverse
I always wondered what a horizontal Game Boy would play like and thanks to Adafruit's fantastic Game Grrl project (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:382485) now I can finally find out! To ensure everything fits perfectly within the original footprint, I'm excluding a speaker from this build. In contrast to the original Pi Grrl, this design is specifically tailored for the latest Raspberry Pi Model B+, A+ and 2 Model B boards. As the new Pi's are too large to fit inside the old Pi Grrl with the Adafruit PiTFT 2.8" LCDs, I'm focusing on the newer models. So far, everything seems to be fitting well within this configuration! However, I still need a few crucial components like the battery, Powerboost 500, micro lipo charger and game controller to complete this build. You can expect more updates from me in due time! I've already encountered some minor issues with the current .stl files that require my immediate attention. Problems With Current STL Files: On February 3rd, I noted a few problems with the files that need fixing ASAP. -No holes were included for screws to hold the case together. Easily fixed by using a drill or I will correct the issue within the .stl files immediately -The Power switch was in the wrong position and caused some placement issues with the Pi B+ -Mounting an audio jack at the top is quite challenging as it is -I decided not to place the USB for the charger on the backside where your left palm sits. -The holes for the buttons were slightly too small. As I fix each issue, you'll be able to download the updated .stl files here!
