Housing without screws, cluster-ready design, compatible with: - Raspberry Pi - Rock64 - Other boards with dimensions and screw holes size/location same as in Raspberry Pi Optimized for 3D printing, tested with ABS and Prusa-like printer. I will share the complete design - a 19-inch rack cluster housing for 120 hot-swap capable compute units, redundant PSU, control unit, and other features. This design is inspired by HPE Moonshot servers, keeps compatibility with original Moonshot 1500 chassis manager software API and command line interface (as much as possible). The finished design should be an enterprise-ready small ARM server farm/cluster solution with low entry cost, large selection of compute hardware (ARM boards), network hardware (switch/router) under unified management. I admire HPE Moonshot's idea. Those devices are an extraordinary feat of engineering and innovation, but sadly, many corporate products fall stagnant as a whole line. This work follows the spirit of Moonshot project, transforming it to DIY scale - keeping as much good stuff from original as possible. ARM boards like Raspberry Pi or Rock64 (even more) are ideal bases for this kind of solution. Small size, low power consumption, and cost combined with availability of base hardware input/output interfaces as simple pins give united freedom for creativity. All this pushes my mind to create this design. I hope you find my work useful. Complete clusters or standalone nodes are available from tsunami.technology.
