Raspberry Pi Camera v2 Print Bed Mount
thingiverse
This is a ground-up rebuild of TimOdell's fantastic raspberry pi camera mount. It's designed to fit the Raspberry Pi V2 camera and mount directly to the build plate, allowing the camera to move smoothly along with the print for a more stable image and some truly amazing time lapses. You'll need just one M3 bolt and lock nut to secure the camera hinge to the arm. I made this change from the original design, which used a pin that proved too challenging to print, so I simply omitted it. Here are the key modifications I made to his design: The camera back has been reworked to fit the Raspberry Pi V2 Camera perfectly. The original version had some clearance issues that prevented the enclosure from closing properly. Although I'm not sure if my revised design will still accommodate the V1 camera, as I don't have one on hand, I'd love to hear any suggestions you might have for a new version that would work with both. The camera base now has a narrower gap, allowing it to mount securely to the aluminum bed mount of my Makerfarm Pegasus (located beneath the heated bed) without reducing the available build space. To capture better side views of smaller prints, I've positioned the camera slightly lower on the bed. Most of my prints are under 3-4 inches tall, and this adjustment should provide a clearer view of the layers. The camera's ribbon cable exits the top of the mount, which seems to be the default orientation when using the camera with OctoPrint. I've also thickened the camera arm and tightened its dimensions in an effort to minimize picture wobble during faster acceleration and movement speeds. While I'm not entirely sure if this will have a noticeable effect, it can't hurt to try! All .step files are included; simply let me know if you'd prefer another format, and I'll do my best to accommodate your request. Print Settings: Printer: Makerfarm Pegasus 10 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm Infill: Up to You Notes: The only area where supports might be necessary is on the camera arm, where one part is angled in.
