Raspberry Pi Camera Tripod Mount
thingiverse
I needed to attach my Raspberry Pi camera so I could watch and record my prints on OctoPrint, so I made this. After printing the box, I realized I could make it smaller to save plastic, so I did with the lid, but I didn't bother to reprint the box. The included models are resized correctly. OBJ is also included if you want to make changes. To attach the lid, I used 3mm threaded inserts pressed in with a soldering iron and Allen key screws. Here's the link below. The lid isn't really necessary, but it helps keep dirt and dust out. Just be gentle, make sure your lens is aligned before pushing the lid on too hard. The camera module is the official Raspberry Pi V2 module. I just used some old screws I had lying around and screwed them directly into the plastic holes. They didn't line up perfectly, but they worked well enough. I also had to drill out the holes in the camera board slightly so the screws could fit. Be sure you don't tighten the screws down too much, as the components on the back stick out, and thus the actual green part of the board won't be able to touch the printed box. This box is designed to screw onto a standard 1/4"-20 tripod thread. I just used a cheap mini tripod I had lying around. Again, the threads just cut into the plastic. I recommend purchasing longer ribbon cable if you're building this with a Pi, as the included cable is pretty short. A longer cable will give you more flexibility in where you place the camera.
