Raspberry Pi B+ Case (for OctoPrint)
thingiverse
This is a case I designed specifically for MOI3D on Raspberry Pi Model B+, tailored to use with OctoPrint, known as OctoPi, so hence the ventilation slots molded in my own unique OctoPi logo. It's worth mentioning that there isn't any opening provided for GPIO slots on the Pi. This is simply because I didn't require them and wanted to maintain a sleek appearance. If you'd like, adding these slots should be pretty straightforward using the MOI file. Note that when assembling the case with the Pi, it's essential to remove the SD card first. Speaking from experience here, there's a chance to bend (and damage) the SD card while inserting the Pi into the case if this precaution isn't taken. Instructions: This case was printed at 0.15 and 0.3 on a PrintrBot Simple Metal in both PLA and ABS without any additional support needed. Surprisingly, even with a bridge across the opening, the power and SD cutouts printed flawlessly without needing extra support. Two separate STL files are included: one for the bottom of the case and another for the lid. Please note that to print the lid correctly, it must be turned upside down. There's an additional option where I've omitted the logo from the model, if desired. Just remember that without this ventilation slot made in the model, you might want to consider adding your own slots for better airflow (keeping in mind how hot Raspberry Pi typically runs). If anyone happens to have MOI 3D on their system and is looking to explore my design further, I've also included a 3DM file for users to tinker with. With this model, there are various separate components you can choose to blend or omit: the clips, logo, and even some bevels that aren't included in the STL models shared here. Just keep in mind not to attempt printing the FULL STL file – it's only used as a visual aid for seeing how the assembled case would look.
