Raspberry Pi Armor Case Extension with fast attach wall mount
thingiverse
The Raspberry Pi 3 and 4 definitely need cooling, and passive cooling is sufficient with the massive Armor Case housing that you can get for between $10 to $14 (thermal pads and screws included). Simply search "Armour Case Raspberry Pi" on Google. There are specific models available for each of the different Raspberries. WiFi still functions properly. However, if you want to have a real-time clock or other small devices connected via GPIO inside your housing, the Armor Case requires an extension (refer to the remix source for the first attempt). And here it is! This attachment comes with a fast wallmount that slides in smoothly. You'll enjoy free access to the SD card, which highlights the most significant difference between the two case extensions. The Case extension should be scaled up to 101% in X and Y axes (while maintaining 100% height). The wallmount is drawn slightly larger, so it's best used at 100%. If you encounter difficulty sliding the wallmount into place, apply a bit of careful force. To smooth out the support areas, simply place them on your heatbed for a few minutes at 65°C (I used this temperature setting for PLA). After that, it should slide in naturally. The Case extension has been tested with an Armor Case for Raspberry Pi 4, but it's also compatible with the Raspberry Pi 3. Just make sure to order the correct Armor-Case model, as the thermal contact areas differ significantly between various Raspberry models.
