Raspberry Pi A+ Audio Project Enclosure
thingiverse
I designed a small enclosure for a Raspberry Pi audio project around the Raspberry Pi A+ and a Veho rechargeable speaker. This enclosure is meant to have a minimal footprint while protecting hardware components. Including fasteners, spacers, and hardware, there are 34 total parts involved. The 3D-printed parts require about two hours of printing time. I used McMaster-Carr for the hardware and fasteners, which cost around $60. The components were printed on a MakerBot Replicator 2 at 0.2mm resolution using Simplify3D to slice and arrange the pieces. You can create your own design by utilizing the SCAD files. Instructions To assemble the enclosure, you'll need a combination of 3D-printed parts, hardware (such as RPi, speaker, etc.), nuts, and bolts. Print one each of the following: rpiaplus-base-offsetx, spkr-mount-bottom, and spkr-mount-top. Additionally, print four each of the following: rpiaplus-standoff, spacer-base-spkr-26, and spacer-spkr-mounts. You'll need to order fasteners from McMaster-Carr: Black-Oxide Class 12.9 Socket Head Cap Screw, Alloy Steel, M5 Thread, 65mm Length, 0.80mm Pitch Class 10 Steel Hex Nut, M5x0.8 Thread Size, 8mm Wide, 4mm High Metric 316 Stainless Steel Pan Head Phillips Machine Screw, M2.5 Size, 12mm Length, .45mm Pitch Type 18-8 Stainless Steel Hex Nut, M2.5x0.45 Thread Size, 5mm Wide, 2mm High Order the following hardware: Raspberry Pi A+ ($10) WiPi Wifi module ($7) Veho 360 Speaker ($30) SD Card 8GB ($15) Power Supply ($20) Build your project! Once you have all the parts and materials, you can build your project. It's up to you what you do with your RPi. However, here are some step-by-step instructions for setting up an RPi for an audio project:
