Raspberry Pi-5 SSD Case

This case is designed to hold a Raspberry Pi-5 and a standard 2.5” (7mm thick) SATA SSD. Sometimes it’s useful to be able to boot your Pi from a SSD rather than an SD card. It’s a clip together design that requires no screws.The Pi and SSD just sit in the base and are held firm by the lid. There are also keyhole mounts on the back for mounting on a surface.There’s an optional power button, if required. You’ll probably need to tidy the hole with a 3mm drill after printing and then simply hold the button in place while mounting the Pi in the base.If you have some clear 1.75mm filament, you can add a of light pipe to extend the LED to the outside of the case. The 40mm fan just presses in – once again, no screws required. I’ve found that running a 5 volt fan from a 3.3 volt GPIO pin creates plenty of airflow to keep the CPU cool. I’m also running my Pi-5 with a Waveshare passive heatsink. I’ve included an adapter so you can use a 30mm fan, if that is your want. It’s a pretty tight fit though - you may need appropriate encouragement. A SATA to USB3 cable connects the SSD to the Pi. The one I’m using here is from Pimoroni, but there are plenty of others. Be sure that yours is compatible with the Pi as not all are. This site has a list of tested adapters.
