Raspberry Pi 4 - SSD & Pi Mount
thingiverse
Raspberry Pi Foundation has just released new firmware for the Raspberry Pi 4 that makes it possible to boot directly from a SSD, resulting in significantly faster speeds and performance. This custom mount was designed specifically to attach a Raspberry Pi 4 to an SSD and later integrate it into a server rack (Version 2.0 is coming soon). ### Essential Components * A solid state drive * A USB to SATA 3 Adapter (I used these, no referral) * Four Raspberry Pi Standoff Screws (the smaller the better) * Four 2.5mm screws for mounting the Raspberry Pi * Four 3mm screws for mounting the SSD ### Recommended Components * A Raspberry Pi 4 PoE HAT (this is what I use, no referral) ### Mount Orientation The Raspberry Pi can be mounted with the SSD Mount facing up or down in this version. However, the design may change in the future to support rack mounts via slides. The SSD Mount's design serves two purposes: it reduces print time by eliminating unnecessary material and it adds a personal touch to the overall look. Feel free to modify the design as you see fit or make it solid.
