Now you might be wondering to yourself:

“Why didn't you just use a USB-A to USB-B Cable to plug the Pi into the printer and have the Pi powered separately from the printer like what a normal sane human being would do???”

And to that, I would say that's just boring and cringe lmao. I liked how the Pi Zero can just be connected to the back of the mainboard and with some setup in software, it just worked. I wanted to sort of replicate that but with a Raspberry Pi 4.

This design is definitely far from perfect. (you have to take the whole mount off if you want to get access to the screw that holds the mainboard door shut) If you're having a problem getting it to go worky, UNDERSTANDABLE, HAVE A GREAT DAY.

Parts required for the mount:

x4 2.5mm zip ties (same size that comes with the Prusa i3 kit)

x2 M3x20 screws

x2 M3 nuts

Parts required for connecting up the Pi to the Printer:

x5 130-140mm long Male-to-Female DuPont Jumper wires

x1 Buck Converter

18AWG Silicone wire

How to mount the Pi to the Pi Mount:

line up the Pi on the “screw holes” and use x4 2.5mm zip ties to attach the Pi to the mount. Why use zip ties instead of M2.5 screws?

Because i don't have any M2.5 screws and nuts * vine boom *

How to mount the Pi Mount to the Mainboard case:

You take the top right and bottom left M3x10 screws that hold the mainboard in and replace them with M3x20s. These screws will poke out and they will be used as studs to attach the mount to. Line up the mount with the studs and slide the mount on. Hand tighten the M3 nuts to the studs

These guides from Prusa will also work with the Pi 4 (GPIO pinout is the same on the Pi 4 as it is on the Pi Zero):

https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/octoprint-building-an-image-for-raspberry-pi-zero-w_2182

https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/raspberry-pi-zero-w-preparation-and-installation_2180

Feel free if you want to make a remix of this lol
