Raspberry Pi 4 Case with space for 2 hard drives
thingiverse
I needed an enclosure for my smart home. I found a case that I liked: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2094601 The only problem was that it wasn't suitable for the Raspberry 4, so I decided to redesign the case. I only use one hard drive at the moment. (Format 2.5 inches) In theory, 2 would fit in. However, this requires angled USB extensions and a SATA-USB adapter with a cable on the side. I recommend these: https://www.amazon.de/UGREEN-Adapter-Festapltten-unterstützt-kompatibel/dp/B07Y825SB8/ref=sr_1_10?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=AQR6I0V2EJG&dchild=1&keywords=sata+usb+adapter&qid=1624727540&sprefix=sata+usb%2Caps%2C176&sr=8-10 https://www.amazon.de/SIENOC-Winkel-Adapter-Stecker-Buchse/dp/B07VVJ37XW/ref=sr_1_9?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=usb%2Babgewinkelt&qid=1624727582&sr=8-9&th=1 The screws are M3x5mm (for Raspberry and hard drive) and M3x20mm (for the cover). https://www.amazon.de/Innensechskant-Sortiment-Metrische-Verschluss-Gewindelänge/dp/B07BZSV4BC/ref=sr_1_16?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=zylinderschrauben+m3x5mm&qid=1624727767&sr=8-16 (This should contain the screws) I recommend foam rubber to dampen hard drive noises. Of course, this step is not necessary with an SSD. Recommendation to everyone who wants to use this case for a smart home: When using a Conbee Stick, I recommend connecting the system hard drive to a USB 2 port.
