Raspberry Pi 4 Case for Pi & Buck Converter - 50mm fan
thingiverse
As I stumbled upon the [Raspberry 4 case](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3811421), designed by user Tronnic, my enthusiasm soared. The design was almost flawless, but I needed to make a few tweaks. To improve stability, I reinforced the mounting posts. I also made sure that the Raspi could be attached using either M2 screws or 2.2x6.5mm tapping-screws without drilling into the board. Additionally, I expanded the cut-outs for USB-3C and HDMI by about 0.2mm in all directions. The cut-out for USB-3 was aligned with the USB-2 port to ensure proper placement. To enhance aesthetics, I rounded off the corners – a personal touch that made a big difference. I also prioritized noise reduction and cooling efficiency by making some extra modifications: The case is now 10mm taller to accommodate a 50x20mm 12V fan. I designed an alternate lid for the fan with a 50mm opening, which works perfectly when driven on 5V – it produces just enough pressure for efficient cooling while maintaining a low noise level. Finally, I included a lid with a hole for a 16mm button to facilitate smooth shutdowns.
