Raspberry Pi 4 (and older/other) HDD Mount (Micro Server)
thingiverse
If you enjoy sharing files with your family but are hesitant to rely on Google, Apple, Microsoft, and other cloud services, consider setting up your own personal server. You can choose from a variety of options like OwnCloud, NextCloud, Open Media Vault, or any other solution that suits your needs. However, 99.9% of people won't (or can't) install a full-fledged server in their homes. Those high-end servers require a lot of space, consume plenty of electricity, are quite loud, and often far more powerful than what's needed for personal use. For instance, a computer like the Orange Pi Zero Plus comes with Gigabit Ethernet for under 40 euros and a 1TB HDD for around 40 euros. So, this could be an interesting option for you. Simply attach your Raspberry Pi 2/3/3+/4, Orange Pi, Odroid, Banana Pi, or any other board that's mechanically compatible with the Raspberry Pi (or other models) to a 2.5" HDD/SSD and install your preferred software: Your personal cloud is ready (apart from setting up your router, cloud/nas software, etc.). Remember, the safest place for your data/files is on your own server. I've also uploaded a picture of the screws I used in case someone needs this information.
