Raspberry Pi 3B case with 40mm fan to fit Kintaro heatsink
thingiverse
I really like Kintaro heatsinks, but I'm not keen on attaching them to the Pi via screws that supposedly pass through the board and bite into plastic - because then you risk the heatsink sliding around or falling off when removing the Pi from its case, making a mess with thermal transfer compound everywhere. Instead, I attach them to the Pi using M2 nuts and bolts. However, this raises the base of the Pi by the width of an M2 nut. This remix reduces the height of 0110-M-P's standoffs in its base by the width of an M2 nut so that the Pi remains at the correct level. It also adds a 40mm fan mount and exhaust vents to sepro's extended top, which is tall enough to fit over the heatsink. Unfortunately, Noctua NF A4x20 fans need a nudge to start spinning when wired to 5V via the GPIO header. But once they're running, everything works fine. I've also created a version with just ventilation slots on top instead of a fan mount.
