Raspberry Pi 3b Case
thingiverse
I couldn't find a Pi 3 case that fit my needs, so I made one myself. It should also work with the Pi 2 and will be tested on the new Pi 3 B+ as soon as possible. UPDATE Version 2: -------------------------- Due to issues with version 1, I've created a new version. When attempting to slice it in Slic3r PE, some problems arose with the STL files. Here are images of the case in AIO Robotics Bright Green for version 2. Some features of Version 2 include: * This is a multiple choice design, allowing you to choose between two bases: Regular or With Screw Tabs. * Good tolerances have been achieved on parts like the SD Card slot, ensuring it fits perfectly every time. * An additional material has been added to make it easier to insert the SD card into its proper spot. There are 8 recesses in the base for a low profile heat sink set. (I recommend these: http://amzn.to/2FYbaz6) Version 1: ------------ Some of the features I included are: * Slots above the display and camera headers for cables. * Indentation inside the lid to make a cutout should the GPIO be needed. * A cutout has been made for the SD card, as the Pi 3 doesn't have a push-to-release feature. * Mounting location on the lid for a 30mm fan. * Recess in base to accommodate a low profile heat sink on the lower chip. (You can find the set I used here: http://amzn.to/2FYbaz6) Two STL TEST files are included, allowing you to print a hacked-up version of the two parts before printing the whole thing. This will give you an idea if it will work for you without wasting time and filament. My tolerances are very tight on this design. In fact, I can snap the lid to the base, and it stays without screws. Your results may vary. BOTH REVISIONS: ----------------- I'm open to suggestions for improvements to this design. I welcome all feedback. Screw holes are made to accept a #4 sheet metal screw. I used #4 x 3/4 stainless screws found at my local big box store (1/2 in would be fine too, and m3 possibly). Hope this case is useful to you. And as always, Print On! -- The Fun King
