Raspberry PI 3 model B Ultimate Cooling Box
thingiverse
I've recycled two fans from an old CPU cooler to create a box for my Raspberry Pi 3. The overall dimensions of these fans are 50x50x10.2mm. These fans have the possibility of operating at two speeds, plus stopping altogether, thanks to a three-position switch. I've also got access to both 5.5v and 3.3v voltages on the GPIO port of my Raspberry Pi (you can check out the electrical drawing for more details). I use my Raspberry Pi as a multimedia server that runs 24/7 without any overheating issues with this setup in place. The upper fan is responsible for cooling down the CPU, as well as the USB chipset. Meanwhile, the bottom fan focuses on keeping the RAM at a safe temperature. The best part? No screws are needed to assemble this box - all it takes are some clever clips!
