The Raspberry Pi is a lineup of tiny single-board computers designed and built by the Raspberry Pi Foundation in the UK to spread computer science knowledge in schools worldwide. These small devices gained massive popularity exceeding expectations, selling well beyond their target audience for uses like robotics projects. Although they lack standard peripherals (like keyboards, mice, and cases), numerous bundles include several accessories both officially and unofficially. According to the Raspberry Pi Foundation, over 5 million of these mini-computers were sold by February 2015, making them the top-selling British computer. By November 2016, their sales hit 11 million units, followed closely by reaching nearly 12.5 million by March 2017. Notably, in July 2017, total sales approached a staggering 15 million mark, then further rose to an impressive 19 million by the time it reached March 2018. Each unit is manufactured within a Sony factory based in Pencoed, Wales.
