Raspberry PI 3 Box - Big Passive Cooling

This is a passive cooled (with a costume big 28mm x 28mm x 15mm heat sink) Raspberry PI 3 box with a "Clamp" on the long side. I did not find any box fasten this way and not along the long side. I used (a variation of) this on my "MagicMirror" project: https://photos.app.goo.gl/FUoiEjMmNBIay1Xk1 Note 1: The lid "pushes" on the heat sink (from the top) so it is always pressured down against the small plate, the plate is then pushed against the CPU so the heat transfers better. Note 2: Remember to put some heat paste on both the CPU and the small plate. You will need a heat sik that fits: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Heatsink-28x28x15mm-Aluminum-heatsink-heat-sink-radiator-for-Electronic-Chipset-heat-dissipation/32712732874.html And a 20mm x 20mm x 3mm copper (or aluminum) plate to transfer the heat to the heat sink, you can use two of these maybe (but make sure they stick together): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10-pcs-20mmx20mm-0-3mm-to1-5mm-Heatsink-Copper-Shim-Thermal-Pads-for-Laptop-GPU/32806314067.html I'm using a single 4mm thick copper plate as a heat transfer plate. But in the design I made it for a 3mm thick plate so you could use the ones above. In the SketchUp files you can find a 28x28 mm version and a 38x38 mm version. :) Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: Prusa Mk2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% Post-Printing Clean out the 3mm holes You will need to clean out the 3mm M3 nut trap holes. I'm using a 0.2 layer to get the nut trap to look nice. :) I also drill out the RPi3 holes to 3mm so I can fit an M3 screw though them. Category: Electronics
