Raspberry Pi 3 B Case
thingiverse
This case is for the Raspberry Pi 3 B and was sparked by a challenge from a friend who sought a secure case without the bulk of external screws like my previous series: Safe and Secure Case which can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:423216. I decided to use M2.5 socket head screws, allowing me to utilize the holes in the motherboard for added security. The result is a compact case that measures 20 mm high and approximately 2-3 mm thick. Additional designs will be added upon request. Edit 1: A honeycomb top was added at the customer's request. Edit 2: A 40mm Fan top was also added. Print Settings: Printer: Ike Core Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 80% Notes: This case is designed to be printed with a layer height of 0.25 mm. It uses four M2.5 20mm socket head screws for secure fastening. I printed mine at an 80% infill rate and only use PLA, so I recommend enlarging the print by 1% if you are using ABS or experience excessive oozing. Any brim used or first layer that is excessively squashed will require removal of excess plastic with an X-Acto knife for the screw head and nut traps. There is a 0.25 mm layer of plastic where the 8 holes meet their respective shafts, which must also be removed. Design Process: This case was designed using Fusion 360. The Fusion 360 source file is included but keep in mind that Fusion 360 can't open local files - you need to upload it first to view or edit.
