Raspberry Pi 3/3+ Case with Magnetic Mount
prusaprinters

This is a case for a Raspberry Pi 3/3+ that uses magnets to allow you to easily affix it to a steel or iron surface. I used this to attach a Raspberry Pi to an enclosure I built using Ikea BROR shelving.

The original design that inspired me to make this is here:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2869086

The reason for creating a new design was that F360 files for the aforementioned design had many errors and warnings, and it was easier to make my changes by starting from the beginning and using that design as a reference.

The Raspberry Pi model was imported from this (wonderful) SolidWorks design:
https://grabcad.com/library/raspberry-pi-3-reference-design-model-b-rpi-raspberrypi-raspberry-pi-2

Magnet holes are sized to fit these magnets:
https://www.michaels.com/promag-neodymium-magnets/10413548.html
Fusion 360 source is provided if you would like to customize for another magnet size/shape.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

20%

Filament:
Doesn't matter Doesn't matter (I used PETG) Doesn't matter

Notes:

I used 3 perimeters, 5 top and bottom layers, and 20% infill.
