Raspberry Pi 2 Micro SD Card holder
thingiverse
The Raspberry Pi 2 has one glaring weakness that I encountered firsthand - its SD card is spring-loaded, as opposed to relying solely on friction like the RP1, 3, and 3 B+. This design choice led me to consider discarding the Pi 2 altogether when the spring mechanism gave out. However, I decided to experiment with an alternative approach, designing a system where two pegs sit snugly in their respective holes, providing a secure friction fit for the micro SD card. In the next iteration of this project, I plan to create a custom case that incorporates this design concept, ensuring it can be easily assembled and disassembled without requiring any tools. This way, users will still be able to swap out or upgrade the SD card with ease.
