Ras-NAS - A Raspberry Pi NAS enclosure
thingiverse
I recently got a drove of solid state drives and wanted to dabble in Raspberry Pi as well. This project is to combine the two into a working SSD RAID array. This is just a simple proof of concept but depending on how well it does I might reiterate the project to compensate a full RAID card for RAID-5 operation. Goals for this PoC are, - Fully enclosed 2.5" SSD's within a hotswap bay - Fully powered by a single AC/DC adapter - SSH/Web interface and Plex/Samba utility - Standard Gigabit networking for streaming / transfers - RAID-0 operation for a Striped volume As per usual, all models are created in SketchUp and are available for download. Please let me know in the comments if there's any complaints or improvements, thanks! Updated 1/4/2022 - I've finished the case and updated the project so it's not a work in progress anymore. I'll be printing the case during this week and will report what I find but I believe it should be all wrapped up minus maybe a minor change or two. I've also thrown away all the extra SKP files in favor of just the one whole project file for organization sake.
