RAPMAN Bowden convertion
thingiverse
Still holding on to hope. Old Rapman's revival with a poor man Bowden like setup. Compare two Prusa I3 corner blocks - one original extruder, the second with a Bowden style extruder just hanging above the table. A huge difference in straight edge quality. Yeah, Rapman let us down big time. All products have a finite life, but learning BfB's agenda after spending over $4K on what I thought was a top-notch product that had a future, only to have it discontinued less than a year later and replaced by the same machine with expensive proprietary supplies - that's just rude and unprofessional. A classic case of a company being led astray by its marketing department. I like my machine, unfortunately BfB doesn't. They see a cash cow in their shiny new $100 cartridges. Same old marketing trick made famous by Gillette - give away the razor and extract maximum profit from customers by selling expensive blades to fit it. Could've done the right thing and kept the 3D Touch as a Pro machine for those who don't need hand-holding, but no. Of course, the move to a different forum will silence anything voiced here, adding salt to the wound by making this change on April Fool's Day. If there was any question - I'm not happy and feeling disrespected. I'm unsure about how to tell my partner who reluctantly got behind me on this purchase when we didn't have the money and let me invest extra in what I thought was a superior company and product. Don't get me wrong, the product is great. Waiting for the other shoe to drop now - discontinuing support of it, because that's sure to follow. You know, that old "end of life" crap. I guess I'll just stuff it and not say anything as long as I can muster. Thanks for putting me in this position. Of course, it was my decision to be gullible, so I guess it's all my fault. Bloody frakkin' Bites, that does. Conclusion: don't trust anyone when buying proprietary 3D printers - build your own today. It's very easy. The Prusa I3 is a good starting point.
