RapMan 3.1 Pillow Blocks
thingiverse
These pillow blocks, designed specifically for RapMan X and Y axis bearings, offer a comfy alternative to pinching the bearings between bolts and acrylic sheets, ensuring smoother movement. Benefits include reduced falling nuts and washers, easy tightening with just a single hex wrench, less likelihood of snapping acrylic parts, increased stability, and an overall cool appearance. These pillow blocks are similar to those found on the Bits from Bytes wiki but offer additional features such as open design for easier installation without removing bearings, a backstop for easy bearing centering, and insets for bottom nuts that prevent spinning out and enhance tightening. They maintain original extruder and x-axis heights and come with a cool bearing packing tool. Designed to be easy to print and fit the RapMan's unique requirements, these pillow blocks contribute to a reliable and smooth running 3D printer. To use, print all parts except for the x-axis front block (print two of those), optionally print the bearing packing/depacking tool, disassemble the extruder and x-axis carriage, install the pillow blocks, reassemble the y-axis, reinstall the extruder, and ensure alignment.
