RAPIRO - Metabee edition by Atomic Lab
thingiverse
This is a Work In Progress about my mod of RAPIRO. I took the Metabee concept and put it into action using basic knowledge of Blender that I've acquired. I designed this project so it can print in my UP! Mini printer, where all the pieces fit inside a compact space measuring 12 cm^3. I was able to do this by printing this scaled-down head: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:335012 from Geoffro's creation. Then I mixed and matched the original RAPIRO design with circles, squares, etc., giving it a fresh spin while keeping it similar to Metabee's iconic look. As per the creator, RAPIRO is a cute and budget-friendly robot kit designed specifically for use with a Raspberry Pi. It comes equipped with an Arduino-compatible servo controller that makes assembly easy - even beginners can put one together using only a screwdriver and no soldering required. The servo control board is also programmable and compatible with Arduino, while it's been designed to hold the Raspberry Pi and Camera module in its head. To top it off, RAPIRO includes 12 servo motors, full-color LED eyes that light up its gaze, and it even comes with a PSD distance sensor and speakers ready for use! Credit goes to Atomic Lab (www.atomiclab.org) for their creative work. You can connect with us on facebook or twitter at theatomiclab - we're waiting for you! Instructions are pretty simple: all you need to do is glue the shooter.stl to the arm, then follow the standard Rapiro instructions for assembly and operation
