The Rapier Missile Launcher, a British surface-to-air missile system, serves the RAF Regiment and British Army. In service since 1972, it replaced all other anti-aircraft weapons in the Army. It is efficient against low-altitude targets, replacing guns, and against longer-range, higher-altitude targets, superseding Thunderbird missiles. The Rapier was also introduced to replace Bofors guns and Tigercat missiles in RAF service. With a fast reaction time and high maneuverability, it outperformed its predecessors, replacing them by 1977. Today, the Rapier remains the UK's primary air-defense weapon after almost 35 years of service, expected to continue until 2020. This low poly model weighs 45 kg, measures 2.235 m in length and 0.133 m in diameter. It features textures such as Rapier_Launcher_C.png and Rapier_Launcher_AO.png, and supports non-overlapping UVW mapping. Native file formats include .blend, .obj, .fbx, and .3ds. Preview images are rendered in Blender v2.78 with standard materials included. The model is easy to modify as all objects, materials, and textures have relevant names. The pivot point is set at the ground position, adhering to real-world scale.
