RapidFire + ELRS Backpack Cover for SKY04
thingiverse
This is my remix of nogmasa's original rapidfire cover, to add room for ELRS backpack hardware. In my case this was an RP1 elrs rx. A DIY esp01f with ams1117-3.3V also will fit, but esp12f is just too big. The mounting tabs and the rest of the cover are exact copies of the original. The 14.5mm extension bay I added toward the strap side gives room for the backpack hardware, and having a wider footprint it also helps support the module better. Like the original, it works best printed in TPU. No supports or rotations are needed. As shown in the photo, the 5 wires must be passed through the correct holes in the plastic PCB support before soldering. Verify correct orientation as you pass wires through, or you may have to solder twice like I did, lol. I used 3M VHB tape to secure the shrink wrapped rp1 to the cover. I used about 1" long 30awg silicone wires to hook things up. Take care routing the wires so they don't get pinched between the usb port and goggle bay. Tape to secure the wires may be a good idea.
