Range Hood Filter Retaining Spring
thingiverse
This custom-designed filter spring is tailored for Robinhood Grange range hoods with model number RG6BL visible after filters are removed. It may also work for other brands using a similar design. The original clear plastic filter springs have become brittle and broken, as indicated by the service manual which states they are made of polycarbonate. Although I have polycarbonate filament, I chose to use PETG instead, since the originals have failed. The service manual can be found at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/992335/Robinhood-Rg6wh.html. According to the service manual, the original part number is 101221 and can be purchased at https://genuineapplianceparts.com.au/spring-filter.html for reference. The new PETG 3D printed parts work perfectly so far, with Simplify 3D estimating a cost of 14 cents each. Even if I have to reprint them once a year, it will work out much cheaper than the $29.55 (incl. shipping) it would cost to purchase replacements which are likely to fail like the original parts. Printed on a Creality CR-10 using eSun Solid Grey PETG, with print speed: 60mm/s, hot end: 240°C, heated bed: 60°C, 0.2mm layer height, and 0.4mm nozzle. A six perimeter outline brim was used to prime the nozzle and help adhere the part to the heated bed while printing.
