Randomized Rings
thingiverse
I created these OpenSCAD files as part of an art project that delves into randomness in text-generated art. None of these were printed, but some example STLs are included that were exported from these files. ArtRand1 - Rings of uniformly scaled spheres scale down uniformly in X and Y each layer. Each layer has a randomized degree of rotation. ArtRand2 - The same as ArtRand1, but the XY scale of the spheres in each ring increases uniformly about that ring to form a spiral and makes the randomized rotation of each layer more obvious. ArtRand3 - Gives more control over some variables. Each layer is still identical except for XY scale, but the magnitude of that scale is now randomized and the height (Z) of each sphere in the ring is now randomized. This version also allows for a randomized number of layers and a randomized number of spheres in each layer. In the future, I would like to create a version where each layer scales differently in X and Y, or a version where each ring is unique.
With this file you will be able to print Randomized Rings with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Randomized Rings.
