This is the final part of my espresso setup. Hands-free grinding into the portafilter gives me just enough time to prepare the milk. The hole diameter measures 45.5mm with 16mm of vertical clearance for the bottom of the portafilter. If you need a different size, simply scale the funnel before printing. Tip: December 2019 To prevent coffee grinds from sticking to my grinder and surrounding area, I apply a short strip of aluminum duct tape to the base. During grinding, one portafilter bolt touches it as well as the stainless steel base on my Rancilio machine. This electrical connection dissipates static charge buildup, allowing 100% of the grinds to fall into the funnel. Next, I tap the tamper against the Rancilio plastic chute once to dislodge any coffee clumps, then remove and bump the filter with the attached funnel (holding both) on the counter a couple of times to center the grinds in the funnel. Finally, I tamp down the coffee, leaving no mess or cleanup required around the grinder. Designed using Fusion 360 and printed on my Cetus MK2 extended 3D printer. -Peter
