RAMPS Fan Holder
thingiverse
This fan holder is designed specifically for RAMPS 1.4 boards equipped with a smart adapter. The fan is strategically positioned directly over the most stressed stepper modules, which include extruders, x-axis, and y-axis components, blowing air onto the mosfets and fuses as well. To meet the cooling requirements of these stepper modules, this holder induces a gentle airflow beneath them, as detailed in the datasheets for A4988 and DRV8825. A critical feature of this design is the pin that separates the tabs of Q2 and Q3, preventing potential short circuits on the mosfets. The fan requires a 40mm fan (I used a 20mm high one) and three 40x3mm screws for installation. The fan is simply pressed into place, although an additional cable tie can be installed for extra security. A hole in the middle stand of this holder can also be utilized as a cable drill point. This fan holder was designed with my RAMPS Holders in mind: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2165053 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2169986. However, it may also fit other assemblies. This part is used in my Prusa i3 Master Rework collection on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/7Steam/collections/my-wooden-mendel
